ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The A.P. Property Services Rochester International Airshow at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport is returning this weekend.
The United States Air Force (USAF) Thunderbirds will headline the show. It will also include performances from the U.S. Army Golden Knights and a Jump Jet. The USAF Thunderbirds are known for a mix of formation flying and solo routines.
Demonstrations will also highlight the F-16 Falcon, a supersonic multi-role fighter jet.
First arrivals this week
The show is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday, Aug. 9, but the action officially begins Tuesday. That is when the first aircraft of the USAF Thunderbirds is set to arrive at the Rochester Airport at 1 p.m.
Then, catch a 7 ship aerial flyover at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Temporary flight restrictions
All drone operators planning to be in the area of the show cannot fly their drones during the following times:
Tuesday: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.During those times, drone flights are prohibited within five and a half nautical miles of the air show.
