ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Dozens of older adults and people with disabilities who live at Rochester’s Pinnacle Apartments went without elevator access for the second time this summer.
News10NBC learned all three elevators in the building were down for hours Sunday night. The same thing happened just last month during a serious heat wave.

One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, says these constant breakdowns are taking a toll on people’s lives.
“They’re stuck in their place. They’re stuck downstairs. You can’t take your dog out if you got a dog. They need to sink some serious money into this and get it done the correct way,” the resident said.
We reached out to the management company, PathStone. A spokesperson said the following in a statement sent to us:
“We understand and share our residents’ frustration regarding the elevator outages. We recognize the significant impact these disruptions have on daily life, and we take these concerns very seriously.
PathStone has been actively working with our licensed elevator contractor and remains in regular communication with them, authorizing and completing the repairs they recommend. Because resident safety is our highest priority, we follow the guidance of our elevator professionals to ensure the elevators are safely returned to service.
We remain committed to restoring reliable elevator service as quickly as possible and will continue working diligently with our contractor until these issues are resolved. We sincerely appreciate the patience our residents have shown during this challenging time.”
Our photojournalist did see a technician come into the building later Sunday night. We will continue to keep an eye on how repairs are going.
