The National Age Group record onslaught from 10-year-old Gabriel Brown continues, this time in the long-course pool. Following three short-course yards NAG records just over a week earlier, Brown, at the Central Zone 14 & Under Championships in Evansville, Indiana, notched his first two long-course 10& Under NAG records in the 200 IM and 200 freestyle.
The first of the two records came in the 200 IM, where Brown entered this meet with a lifetime best of 2:27.47 from the Indiana Age Group Championships just a week earlier, which ranked him just behind Ayden Tan‘s 2:27.38 NAG Record from 2023. He would drop nearly a full second, becoming the first 10 & Under swimmer in NAG history to crack the 2:27 barrier in 2:26.68.

A day later, Brown would take on the 200 free, as he came into this meet with the 2nd fastest 10 & Under time in NAG history of 2:11.40, only trailing Winn Aung by eight one-hundredths of a second in 2:11.32 from 2013. That 13-year-old record would live its final moments as Brown surged to a new career best in 2:11.18, marking the 5th NAG record of his career, all of which have come in the span of about a month.
