NAPLES, N.Y. — On Saturday, around 7:25 p.m., the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office went to 7832 County Road 36 in the Town of Naples for a motorcycle crash. The rider had life-threatening injuries after crashing into a deer, deputies say.
The 53-year-old Steuben County motorcyclist was riding south on County Road 36 when he hit a deer, according to OCSO. He was later taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital by the Canandaigua Emergency Squad for his injuries. He was eventually considered stable enough to be taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital, and deputies say he’s currently in guarded/critical condition.
A part of County Road 36 was closed, but has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
Naples Ambulance, Naples Fire Department, and Richmond Fire Department were also at the scene.
