PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) – All hands are on deck to make the Buffalo Bills Training Camp run smoothly – including the Victor girl’s basketball.
If you’ve been out to St. John Fisher for camp, you might notice the spotless grounds. You can thank the Victor girl’s basketball team for making sure trash is picked up and disposed of, because that is literally their job during camp.
The Bills donated $5,000 to the program as the team searches out for any pieces of litter they can find and makes sure trash cans aren’t overflowing. They are also earning community service hours in the process.
“They made a map, they organized themselves in zones, and there’s no one better for this job,” said Nicola Kammers, who is a coach for the Victor Travel Basketball program and an office manager of facilities at St. John Fisher.
Even though clearing trash may not be the most glorifying job to have, the team is taking it in stride.
“It’s just really fun to have this experience and to be able to help out. Regardless of this weather the atmosphere’s always really fun with the Bills,” said Victor girl’s basketball player Maddie Lennon.
