For however up-and-down Ian Happ’s season has been offensively, his defense in left field is still just so excellent. I know he’s got the four Gold Gloves, but it still feels like he’s underrated.
He’s not the fastest guy, but he’ll get to his spots. He’s not the flashiest guy, but he makes almost every reasonably makeable play. He’s not the hardest thrower, but he’s crazy accurate and gets guys out.
Tonight, he showed off all of the above with two really impressive and ultimately critical defensive plays.
