Sam Sollie is set on playing college football in the SEC.
Sollie is a Class of 2028 prospect, meaning he still has two seasons of high school football ahead of him. He’s ready, though, to make a verbal commitment ahead of his junior season.
Sollie announced on Monday that he has set Aug. 8 as his commitment date. He’ll decide between Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Out of Gadsden City (Alabama) High School, Sollie is listed as measuring 6-3 and 190 pounds. Of the 3 major recruiting sites, he is only rated by Rivals. Sollie is rated 3-stars, the No. 77 quarterback and No. 20 player in the state of Alabama by Rivals.
Sollie has had a busy offseason. He took various visits to the above programs across March, May and June. Rivals shows that Auburn leads all with 4 visits, dating back to 2025. Sollie also visited Kentucky and Clemson in June, but the Wildcats and Tigers did not make his final 5.
Barring a reclassification, Sollie is looking at two years from playing in an SEC football game. But he wants to be verbally pledged before his junior year. Coaches welcome early commitments, and quarterbacks tend to be helpful in getting other prospects on board.
