The 2026 U.S. National Championships kick off in Irvine, California on Tuesday, July 28, with the five-day competition running through Saturday, August 1. While the meet does not carry qualifying implications for senior athletes, serving instead as a tune-up for most before the Pan Pacific Championships in a few weeks’ time, it does serve as the sole qualification meet for the Junior Pan Pacific Championships at the end of August.

Event Schedule
Scheduling notes, per USA Swimming:
^=On Day 1 and Day 5, the distance Freestyle events will be swum slowest to fastest, alternating women’s and men’s heats, with the fastest heat of each race swum during the evening session. All other heats will be scheduled to begin after the preliminary session so the fastest heat of the Men’s event finishes approximately 75-minutes prior to the start of the evening session.
