ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High pressure remains overhead into the first part of the weekend, keeping us dry and comfortable. Friday night will see a mainly clear sky with temperatures dropping into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Saturday also starts off nice and clear with a mostly sunny sky. Our area of high pressure slowly slides east, which will allow slightly warmer air to begin to move in. As this high moves away, it’ll also allow some more clouds to begin to build in. Aside from the slight chance of a brief passing shower, Saturday should be mainly dry.
Sunday will see a slightly higher chance of a few showers, though rain chances still look fairly low on Sunday. But if you’re deciding between outdoor plans Saturday vs. Sunday, Saturday will likely have the greater chance of staying completely dry.
As we head into next week, our rain and storm chances will begin to go up. The Great Lakes will see a favorable track for storms starting on Monday. We may see some scattered showers or a few isolated storms working back in on Monday. We need to watch Tuesday for more widespread storms. These may be slow moving, which may produce some heavy rain. At this point we’re “green” on the Threat Tracker, but if flooding becomes a concern, we’ll upgrade to Yellow as a heads up.
