Midwest Poultry Services LP has issued a major recall for more than millions of eggs sold at Kroger grocery stores due to potential salmonella contamination, with multiple recognizable brands pulled from shelves.
The voluntary recall for 1,589,577 dozen white shell eggs and brown cage free eggs, was issued Wednesday. According to the announcement, the eggs were produced and distributed from farms in Texas between June 6, 2026 and July 3, 2026 and distributed to grocery stores in multiple states.
According to the announcement, Midwest Poultry Services, based in North Manchester, Indiana, says it identified issues on its two Texas farms after root cause analysis.
“Midwest Poultry Services is not distributing fresh eggs produced on its Texas farms at this time,” the announcement, distributed by the Food and Drug Administration said.

The eggs, with sell by or best by dates between July 20, 2026 and Aug. 17. 2026 were shipped to foodservice and retailers in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, the FDA said. They were then sold at Kroger grocery stores in Texas and Louisiana; Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi, and other smaller retail stores.
The eggs were sold under a number of brand names and in a variety of sizes, including cartons of 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36. The recall includes Simple Truth Cage Free Brown Eggs, Country Morning, Kroger brand and more.
A full list of recalled products and identifying codes can be found here. No other products were part of the recall, the FDA said.
Anyone who purchased the eggs are urged to return them to stores for a full refund. According to the announcement Midwest Poultry Services was “not aware of any specific illnesses linked to its products.”
