Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid reviewed a broad package of initiatives and investment programs during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as part of the ministry’s efforts to expand exports, improve investor services, and strengthen industrial investment.
Farid presented a proposal to launch the “Boost Exports from Governorates” initiative under the Prime Minister’s patronage in partnership with local and international stakeholders. The initiative aims to expand and diversify Egypt’s exporter base by assessing companies’ export readiness, raising awareness of international market requirements, and providing training and support to production companies with export potential.
He also outlined the criteria for selecting the governorates to be included in the first phase, including industrial activity, the number of operating factories, proximity to ports and transport networks, logistics services, export potential, industrial diversity, and the availability of business support institutions.
The minister reviewed preparations for the launch of the Investor Care Platform, a unified digital channel for receiving, tracking, and resolving investors’ complaints. He said the platform will streamline complaint handling, improve transparency, provide real-time tracking, and support data-driven decision-making. Ahead of its official launch, around 69% of submitted complaints have already been resolved, while work continues to address the remaining cases.
Farid also highlighted efforts to improve the accuracy of foreign direct investment (FDI) statistics through a new digital platform for collecting and analyzing companies’ financial statements, alongside measures encouraging companies to disclose foreign investment data in accordance with the Investment Law.
The meeting also reviewed progress in establishing the Egypt Sub-Fund for Industrial Investment, which aims to support export-oriented industries, deepen local manufacturing, localize advanced technologies, increase industrial production, improve the trade balance, and attract long-term institutional investment. The proposed fund, to be led by the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, will provide flexible investment mechanisms for strategic industrial projects.
Farid highlighted investment opportunities in priority sectors, including machinery and equipment manufacturing, low-voltage electric vehicle batteries, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, packaging materials, and phosphate fertilizers, as part of efforts to strengthen industrial localization and enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian products.
He also presented a proposal to establish an Africa Investment Fund to support the regional expansion of Egyptian companies, mobilize investment for priority sectors across the continent, strengthen economic integration with African countries, and enhance Egypt’s investment presence in regional markets.
In addition, the minister reviewed a proposal to establish a Sports Investment Fund, to be created and managed by the private sector, with the aim of financing and developing athletic talent across a range of sports through a dedicated investment framework.
