ROCHESTER, N.Y. – As the cold front and strong thunderstorms move off to the east, we are heading back to green on the Threat Tracker. Overnight temperatures will dip into the low-60s with partly cloudy skies. As lingering moisture still exits the region, a stray shower or rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out tonight, but most should stay quiet. Winds will come out of the west/northwest between 10 to 20 mph.
Behind this cold front, we do get a noticeable temperature drop that brings us only into the upper-60s as a high temperature on Wednesday. Winds will stay breezy out of the northwest between 15 and 25 mph with some gusts occasionally peaking over 25 mph. Intermittent rain showers are expected to be intermittent through Wednesday, but only trace accumulations are expected. Wednesday night will remain cool with low temperatures in the mid-50s and clearing skies.
Looking ahead: Thursday and Friday weather is expected to be seasonable and gorgeous with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will reach a high near 76 degrees on Thursday and a high near 80 degrees on Friday. Winds also die down Wednesday night through Thursday, ending our breezy conditions. The weekend, currently, does not look too wet. Saturday should be a nice day with temperatures in the mid-80s and only a 20% chance of a passing shower. Shower chances increase into Sunday night ahead of our next system. However, no strong storms are in the forecast at the time.
