ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Former Webster Police Chief Gerald Pickering is set to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Rochester City Court.

Pickering is one of six men arrested following a Rochester Police Department prostitution detail July 9 on Lyell Avenue. The 68-year-old served as Webster’s police chief and also worked as a deputy with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. He also was employed with the University of Rochester for several years.

Earlier this month, Pickering apologized in a statement.

“I hope to regain the trust of our community in the near future. I am incredibly sorry for the shame this arrest has caused my family, friends and the community,” Pickering stated.

His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday morning before Judge Constance Patterson.
