BRIGHTON, N.Y. — The Town of Brighton is making sure kids know the rules of the road when they ride their bikes.
The town invited kids and their families to bring their bikes in for skill tests and safety checks. News10NBC was there as families participated in the event. The Brighton Police Department sponsored the rodeo.
“We know kids are going to be out there and their learning habits as young people. We want to make Brighton a pedestrian and bicycle community,” said Brighton Town Supervisor Bill Moehle. “I see families riding out together. So getting those rules out and early understanding the hand signals and riding with traffic. Those are all really important things for people to learn.”
There were giveaways, including bike helmets and safety materials. A bike raffle was held for those who pre-registered.
