ROCHESTER, N.Y. — There are so many outdoor events happening on Thursday to celebrate summertime in Rochester. But will the air quality advisory make an impact?

News10NBC has issued a Yellow Alert as we track air quality concerns due to smoke from wildfires burning in Canada and Minnesota. As of Thursday morning, the air quality is considered “unhealthy,” according to AirNow’s tracker. You can see News10NBC’s latest forecast here and the latest air quality index here.

Movies in the Park

ESL Ballpark is scheduled to hold a free outdoor screening of the first movie in the “Rocky” franchise on Thursday night, part of Monroe County’s annual Movies in the Park series. However, the county says the screening will be “canceled or rescheduled” if the air quality index gets above 200. County leaders will monitor the index throughout the day.

If the event isn’t postponed, gates at ESL Ballpark will open at 7 p.m., and the screening will start at 7:45 p.m. Movies in the Park kicked off on June 26 and it runs through Aug. 28. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the series:
