Egypt’s Burullus Gas Company plans to bring the West Mina gas project into production in early December, with an initial output of 160 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 .
The announcement came during a visit by Sayed Selim, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), to Burullus Gas headquarters, where he reviewed the company’s current and future production plans.
The ministry said that Burullus Gas is also carrying out an acid stimulation programme to improve well performance by September, a move expected to increase production by an additional 40–60 million cubic feet per day.
The meeting also reviewed progress toward reconnecting the Sepia Da well using Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) technology and discussed the company’s 4D seismic survey, which is expected to support new production opportunities in high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs.
Selim called for faster implementation of upcoming projects, particularly Phase 12A, which is scheduled to begin production in 2028, and urged the wider energy sector to benefit from the experience gained through Burullus’ projects.
