ROCHESTER, N.Y. — RTS’s on-demand rideshare service is scaling back its hours. Starting Sept. 7, RTS On Demand will no longer operate on weekends or weekday nights at 8 p.m.
RTS says the change is part of its goal to address a budget deficit while providing reliable transportation. The transportation service says the changes will not lead to any layoffs.
RTS On Demand will continue to operate on weekdays until 8 p.m. You can request a pickup online here, through the RTS app, or by calling 585-288-1700.
RTS is encouraging anyone who relies on weekend or nighttime on-demand services to plan ahead and explore other transportation options. You can see a list of bus routes and other RTS services here. Miguel Velázquez, CEO of RTS, provided this statement:
