Police arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that left one person injured and prompted a SWAT team response on Saturday night, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at around 9:45 p.m. in the 9300 block of Chestnut Lane in Munster. The Munster Police Department said officers arrived at the scene and found a woman who had been shot in the face.
She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. As of Sunday evening, her condition hasn’t been released.
Northwest Regional SWAT responded to the scene and negotiated with the suspect, who authorities said was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators obtained search warrants for both the residence and a vehicle at the property. The suspect, who hasn’t been identified, was booked into the Lake County Jail.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
