Smith noted that Gallup's son, Eden, stepped in to save the day and played the bass with the band.

Ahead of the second show, Smith shared an update as well, saying, "Unfortunately Simon is still not well enough to play, so Eden will be filling the bass breach again tonight - We hope you will join us in wishing Simon the speediest of recoveries - And Eden thanks!"

"Get well soon Simon- the bass is in good hands," said another, while more fans chimed in, saying, "Eden was amazing last night- Simon should be so proud!" and "I love that kids are trained up and ready to step in when needed, something so wholesome about that."

The Cure's next set of concerts is in Athens, Greece, on July 14 and 15. As of writing, it's unclear if Gallup will be recovered and able to play with the band at the shows.
