World Junior Record: 7:08.37, USA, 2019 European Junior Record: 7:10.39, Russia, 2025 Championship Record: 7:12.15, Italy, 2024 2025 European Junior Champion: France, 7:15.99The Russian team stopped the clock in 7:09.16 to finish seven seconds ahead of the Italian team’s 7:16.14 in 2nd.
The team led from start to finish, starting with Bogdan Toropkin‘s 1:47.86 on the first leg. Mikhail Shcherbakov swam 1:47.42 in 2nd. Savelii Vishniakov split 1:48.16 on the 3rd leg, and Grigorii Vekovishchev brought the team home in 1:45.72.
They took more than a second off their own former European Junior Record time of 7:10.39 from last year’s World Junior Championships.

Vekovishchev’s split was also more than two seconds faster than his own 1:48.12 from that same relay in August of last year.
The Russian team was still about a second over the United States 2019 World Junior Record time of 7:08.37.
This is the 3rd relay record the Russian team has broken this week. They broke the World Junior records in the 400 freestyle relay and mixed 400 freestyle relay
