There are no words that can truly express the heartbreak our family feels as we say goodbye to our beautiful Kathy. On July 6, 2026, Katherine Jeffers passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 37. Our hearts are shattered, and we know a piece of us will always be missing.
Kathy was born on February 5, 1989, in Nashville, Tennessee, and spent most of her life in Tennessee. She lived life on her own terms. She was bold, stubborn, funny, compassionate, and fiercely loyal to the people she loved. She had a way of making people laugh, even in difficult moments, and she never pretended to be anyone other than herself.
Above everything else, Kathy was a mother. Her son, Gabriel, was her entire world. The love she had for him was endless, unconditional, and obvious to anyone who knew her. She was so incredibly proud to be his mom, and he will forever be the greatest part of her legacy.
Kathy is now reunited with her mother, Karen Jeffers (Bell), and the love of her life, Travis Wilhite. While we find comfort in imagining them together again, it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.
She leaves behind her precious son, Gabriel; her father, Steve Jeffers; her sisters, Yvette Saldana and Beverly Madden; her brother, Steven Jeffers; and countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Kathy was also blessed with two incredible best friends, Mario Saldana and Zeel Carter, who stood by her through life’s highs and lows. Their friendship meant the world to her, and she loved them like family.
Anyone who knew Kathy knew she loved horror movies, bold makeup, and expressing herself in her own unique way. She was never afraid to stand out. One thing we’ll never forget is her favorite phrase: “I got this.” It didn’t always work out the way she hoped, and we’d all laugh about it later, but that was Kathy. She faced life head-on with determination, confidence, and a stubborn belief that she’d figure it out somehow.
Her love for her nieces and nephews was something special. They adored their Aunt Kathy, and she adored them right back. She made them laugh, spoiled them every chance she got, and loved each of them with her whole heart.
If you were lucky enough to know Kathy, you know she loved deeply. She showed up for the people she cared about, and even when life was hard, she kept fighting. She wasn’t perfect—none of us are—but she was real, and she loved with everything she had.
Our family will miss her laugh, her sarcasm, her big heart, and even the moments that drove us crazy. We will miss the phone calls, the holidays, the late-night conversations, and simply knowing she was here. There is an emptiness that can never be filled, but we will carry her memory with us every single day.
Kathy, we hope you knew just how deeply you were loved. We hope you’ve found the peace that sometimes escaped you here. Until we see you again, we’ll hold you close in our hearts, tell your stories often, and make sure Gabriel always knows how much his mom loved him.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. We love you forever, we miss you more than words can say, and we will carry your memory with us until we meet again.
