A Midwest theme park says it will be home to the fastest and tallest water roller coaster in the United States beginning next spring.
According to officials at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, located in the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, the “Cannonball” will make its debut in May 2027, and will feature plenty of eye-popping stats sure to impress hardcore fans of theme park rides.
Officials say the “Cannonball” will be the only “water roller coaster in the Midwest,” climbing up to 90 feet into the sky and rocketing through more than 1,000 feet of track before splashing down into the Boulder Canyon Community Pool in the attraction’s water park area.
It’s expected the ride will reach top speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, and it will feature a drop of 75 feet, both of which are tops in the nation according to Holiday World officials.
The theme park posted a video rendering of how the ride will look when it opens next year, with a projected run time of up to three minutes.
