Striker Folarin Balogun will be able to play after FIFA reversed the controversial red card he received Wednesday during the team’s win over Bosnia and Herzegovina. A White House official says President Donald Trump called FIFA to ask them to review the red card.
With one of the team’s stars off the bench, the players say they’re ready.
“For us, it gives us a boost. We’re really excited. He’s been so good for us this tournament, so to have him for tomorrow is obviously really exciting for us,” said forward Christian Pulisic.
The game kicks off at 8 p.m. EST in Seattle. Over 66,000 fans are expected at Lumen Field, where the asking price Sunday for seats in the Hawks Nest triangle ranged from $1,840 to $8,050 on FIFA’s resale site.
If Team USA wins, it will be the first time the team has won back-to-back knockout games in the World Cup since 2002.
