Chicago police are investigating a pair of shootings that left seven people injured overnight.
One of those victims was a 17-year-old girl, who was shot in the chest in the 3800 block of West Maypole according to Chicago police. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Approximately 10 minutes later another shooting was reported by Chicago police, with six victims injured in the attack.
At least five teens ranging in age from 17 to 19 were shot, and a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times according to police.
All six of those victims were taken to area hospitals, where they were listed in good condition.
It’s not immediately clear if the two shootings were related, and Area Four detectives are investigating. No suspects are currently in custody in either shooting.
