Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ramakrishna Ghosh‘s dedication knows no bounds as he returned to work just after undergoing a foot surgery. The Maharashtra all-rounder, who was purchased by the five-time champions in the IPL 2025 mega auction, sustained a fracture in his very first IPL outing and was ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 earlier in May. Ghosh has returned to work after a brief hiatus, earning praise for his dedication.

As per various reports (unverified), Ghosh took up the job with the Indian railways to support his cricketing career, working as a ticket collector during the day and practicing cricket in the night. Well, this surely reminds all of another CSK star who did the same during the early days of his career and it is none other than Thala MS Dhoni.

Who is Ramakrishna Ghosh?

Ghosh made an instant impact on his arrival in the IPL, bagging the prized wicket of Suryakumar Yadav as his first scalp. The Indian T20I captain was caught out at the sweeper cover as he attempted a big hit but failed to get the distance.

The Maharashtra all-rounder made his List A and T20 debut in 2023 and 2022 respectively and has grown leaps and bounds over the years. He now has 21 wickets from 11 List A games while he has less superior numbers in T20s, with just 2 wickets from 9 games. However, Ghosh proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in terms of batting, having scored 246 runs from 11 List A matches, including a 73-run knock against Punjab in his first game of VHT 2025/26.

Ghosh has fared slightly better in red-ball cricket when compared to his prowess in the limited-overs formats but is a budding cricketer who is surely talented. Born on August 28, 1997, the 28-year-old is a right-handed fast bowling all-rounder. He is a regular for Maharashtra in all formats of the game in the recent past.
