ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – David Dworkin is a co-owner of the Sacramento Kings, the franchise that was once known as the Rochester Royals. And through an amazing family connection, he has one of the coolest stashes of memorabilia from the old Royals.
From game programs and tickets to Les Harrison’s own Hall of Fame ring, Dworkin isn’t shy about showing it off.
“Lester and I were very friendly when he was alive. When Lester passed away, he left me all of his basketball memorabilia,” said Dworkin.
If you aren’t familiar, Harrison was Rochester’s coach and owner in the 1940s and 50s. We’ll dive deeper into his accomplishments in an upcoming story to celebrate their 75th anniversary of winning the 1951 NBA Finals. But for now, all you need to know is that he was a pretty big deal in basketball back in the day.
