ODGEN, N.Y. — The Ogden community gathered on Thursday evening at Pineway Ponds Park to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
People enjoyed live music, sampled local food and drink vendors, and played carnival games ahead of Independence Day on Saturday. Ogden Town Supervisor Mike Zale explained what the U.S. 250th birthday means to the community.

“Communities don’t happen by accident, and 250 years ago, a lot of people fought and died so that we could have the freedoms. It wasn’t perfect at the beginning, and it still isn’t perfect now, but the fact we take that and, as an entire community, get together and celebrate is really meaningful to me,” he said.
The night was capped off with fireworks.
