If you grew up in the ’90s, there’s a good chance you slept on Wamsutta sheets. The iconic American bedding brand was a longtime staple at Bed Bath & Beyond, earning a loyal following for its crisp cotton percale sheets and luxurious bed and bath linens.
After Bed Bath & Beyond’s 2023 bankruptcy, Wamsutta reemerged as a direct-to-consumer brand. Curious whether the quality lived up to my memories, I tested the Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set. Starting at $290, the set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet and two pillowcases, and promises an ultra-smooth, silky-soft sleep experience. Here's how it performed.
What Is the Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set?

Available in full, queen, king and California king sizes, the set features deep-pocket fitted sheets designed to accommodate mattresses up to 20 inches thick. One thoughtful detail I appreciated: the fitted sheet is labeled "Top" and "Bottom," which takes the guesswork out of making the bed.
The Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set can be machine washed on a normal cycle. The brand recommends tumble drying on low heat and advises against dry cleaning.
My Honest Review of the Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set
Ashley Zlatopolsky
The Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set felt silky-smooth straight out of the package. Even better, it retained that luxurious feel after washing. Many sateen sheets lose some of their signature softness after the first wash, but that wasn't the case here. I also appreciated the fitted sheet's "Top" and "Bottom" labels, which made making the bed much easier.
One feature I wasn't as enthusiastic about was the pillowcase design. I personally prefer envelope closures because they keep pillows neatly tucked inside. These pillowcases have an open-end design, which isn't a deal breaker but leaves some excess fabric at the end that I find less polished.

The deep-pocket fitted sheet was another standout feature. There's nothing more frustrating than waking up to find a fitted sheet slipping off the corners of your mattress. On my 13-inch mattress, the sheet stayed securely in place all night. I can easily see it working just as well on taller mattresses or beds topped with thick mattress pads.

While the price might give you pause, I think the comfort, quality and durability make it a worthwhile investment. I’d recommend the Wamsutta Supreme Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set to anyone seeking incredibly soft sheets with a refined look and surprisingly breathable feel.
