The 2026 Chicago Pride Parade steps off Sunday, and here's the route ...Middle East

News by : (NBC Chicago) -

The 2026 Chicago Pride Parade will step off on Sunday morning on the city’s North Side, and hundreds of thousands of revelers are expected for the annual rite of summer.

The parade’s theme this year is “Free to Be Proud,” and hundreds of participants are expected to march along the two-mile route through multiple Chicago neighborhoods on Sunday.

“For over 50 years, the iconic Chicago Pride Parade has been the treasured centerpiece of the city’s month-long Pride celebrations, bringing vibrant energy and joyous festivities to the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods on the last Sunday of June each year,” the event’s website said. “What began as a modest march has grown into one of the oldest and most historic Pride celebrations in the United States.”

According to organizers, the parade route officially starts near the intersection of Grace and Halsted and proceeds south until it hits the intersection of Diversey and Sheridan, with numerous areas for revelers to check out the festivities.

Here is a full map of the route:

After departing southbound at Grace and Halsted, the parade route proceeds to the south past Waveland, Addison, Roscoe and Aldine before turning east on Belmont Avenue.

The parade will travel one block east to Broadway where it again turns to the south and headed toward Diversey. The parade route ends at the intersection of Diversey and Sheridan.

The parade will get underway at approximately 11 a.m., and with temperatures expected to climb into the 80s on Sunday, residents are being urged to drink plenty of water and to seek shade wherever possible along the route. Cooling buses will also be deployed throughout the area, including on Waveland, Addison, Roscoe and Belmont according to organizers.

For those seeking to come out and watch the parade in person, the biggest crowds are normally seen between Belmont and Addison on Halsted, with Belmont between Halsted and Broadway one of the best places to view the parade route.

Pedestrian crossings are also available at the following locations:

• Addison and Halsted

• Cornelia and Halsted

• Buckingham and Halsted

• Briar and Broadway

• Wellington and Broadway

A full list of street closures can be found on NBC Chicago’s website.
