The acclaimed actress, 58, who scored an Academy Award for her role in Woody Allen‘s 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite, is a fan favorite thanks to legendary performances in films like Summer of Sam. The daughter of the late Goodfellas star Paul Sorvino, she’s married to Christopher Backus, and the duo has four children. But one of her most beloved films, Romy and Michele, has brought fans back for rewatches endlessly. And with the new sequel in the works starring Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, everyone's ready to head to the theater.
"After 30 years, we have a sequel... I couldn't be more excited," Sorvino shared from the set of Romy and Michele 2. Looking like she might burst into tears of joy, the star shared that they just completed the first day on set of the highly anticipated sequel.
