It is now or never time for Team India, in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. have played well within their limitations, but come Sunday, they will face their toughest opponent yet — Australia. And they need to beat them, to be able to secure a place in the semis as well. So, if we don’t win, we don’t go through. It is as simple as that.
The team has been making a few mistakes in their playing XI, which must be rectified at all costs. And let us make it clear, without making the amends, India won’t be able to win here. So, on the eve of the IND vs AUS match at the Lord’s, Insidesport takes look at the Predicted India playing XI.
Yastika Bhatia putting pressure on middle-order
The management needs to just look at the scorecards of all the matches till now. Even though a good player, Yastika Bhatia has been taking a lot of time to get going, and that is putting a lot of pressure on Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh. 3, 15, and 23 is what she has managed in the tournament so far.

If at all the management feels like there should be another batter in the side, they can use Yastika at no 7-8. Or else, they can also opt for Bharti Fulmali, who has a WPL career SR of 149. If you don’t play her now, then what was the need to get her in the team. TO add to that, the fielding standards of Yastika aren’t the best.
Please, shuffle the batting order
Hopefully sanity prevails in the dressing room, and Harman can promote Richa Ghosh to no. 4. Look, the skipper anyways looks to play the anchor role, why not come in at no. 5 and do that. At least if Richa comes at 4, she gets the opportunity to play some extra deliveries. If she gets going, she can make a difference of at least 15-20 runs, which will be a huge bonus against Australia.
Kranti Gaud should be the 2nd pacer
Renuka Singh Thakur is coming back from an injury; she played the last match and returned with figures of 1/21. She was good, but then there is also a Kranti Gaud in the side, who hasn’t been in her best wicket-taking form, but this pace attack needs and X-factor. Kranti could just be that. If it is her day, rest assured, the Aussies will have a bad day for sure.
In 13 matches, she has picked up 8 wickets, where her economy has been 8.31. Numbers wise, Renuka is the better bet, but Indian need to move beyond the safe option.
