Oklahoma lured a potential star away from his home state on Friday afternoon, getting a commitment from 4-star phenom Bode Sparrow, whose recruitment designation is as an athlete.
That means that the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder is as versatile as they come. It also means that the product of Kaysville, Utah, really wanted to come to Norman, because he had home state notable programs like BYU and Utah high on his list of choices. Big Ten powerhouse Oregon was also in the mix for Sparrow, so this was a big recruiting get for head coach Brent Venables and the Sooners for the 2027 season.
Sparrow made his intentions known to On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Friday, as he chose Oklahoma and the SEC over offers from a slew of Power 4 programs. After narrowing his finalist list down to Oklahoma, Oregon, BYU and Utah back in May, Sparrow pulled the trigger on his decision in late June.
