BRIGHTON, N.Y. — New details are emerging about a high-speed chase that started in Brighton on Thursday afternoon and ended with an arrest on Lyell Avenue in Rochester.
The chase lasted about 40 minutes. Deputies arrested the driver, Ryan Novick, who was arraigned on Friday and is being held in jail with no bail.
Rochester Police told News10NBC they charged a Ryan Novick after a stolen car chase in 2017. An indictment against that Ryan Novick filed in Monroe County shows he was charged with several crimes including possession of a stolen credit card.
In that 2017 chase, State Police tried to pull Novick over on Hudson Avenue for driving a stolen car but he took off. Troopers chased him throughout downtown Rochester and into Greece.
After losing control of the car on Latta Road, Novick took off on foot. Troopers quickly caught up to him and arrested him on Lake Avenue.
