ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The News10NBC First Alert Weather Team has issued a Yellow Alert for potentially gusty downpours Thursday afternoon and evening. Rain showers and a few rumbles of thunder will impact the morning commute, but the heaviest storms are expected behind the morning rain.
The Finger Lakes and Southern Tier has the highest probability of strong storms. However, Rochester is not in the clear as thunderstorms may move through during Jazz Fest hours. If these storms become strong, the main threats are gusty winds, brief heavy downpours and some small hail.
