Pro Swim Series finalist Andreas Da Silva and Aquatics GB Championship finalist Zachariah Dale, both free and back specialists, are set to swim for Louisiana State University beginning in the fall of 2026.
Da Silva, who recently graduated from Wellington High School in Florida, currently trains year-round with the Wahoos of Wellington. A versatile threat in the water, he primarily excels at free and back but is also a strong competitor in the fly and IM events. At the 2026 Pro Swim Series (LCM) stop in Westmont, Da Silva landed in the ‘C’ final in the 50 back (26.68 – PB) and 50 free (22.95 – PB), placing 17th and 18th, respectively. He also finished 19th in the 100 back (57.07 – PB) and 33rd in the 200 back (1:56.40).
At the 2025 Winter Junior Championships (SCY) in December, Da Silva earned a second swim in all four of his events. He took 5th in the 50 free (19.82 – PB), 6th in the 100 free (43.92), 15th in the 100 back (48.62) and 17th in the 200 free (1:37.42 – PB). A few months later, he set another series of personal best times at the FGC SCY Senior Championship in March. Da Silva took home the championship title in the 50 free (20.36), 50 back (22.52), 200 back (1:47.15 – PB) and 100 IM (50.20); he also won the 100 free in 43.71 after setting a best time of 43.68 during prelims.

He recently competed at the AP Race International Meet (LCM) in May, where he posted a series of top performances. He contested the 50 free (23.59), 100 free (51.96), 50 back (25.65) and 100 back (55.92 – PB).
Dale turned in a strong showing at the 2026 Aquatics GB Championships (LCM) in April; he placed 8th in the 50 back (25.81), setting a best time of 25.53 during the preliminary heats, and 12th in the 100 back (56.28 – PB).
An equally strong competitor in the short course meters events, Dale clocked a string of lifetime best performances at the 2025 Swim England National Winter Championships (SCM) in December. He placed 8th in the 50 back (24.40), 100 back (52.94) and 100 IM (54.96) and 17th in the 50 free (22.39) and 100 free (48.86), setting a personal best time in each event.
Best Times SCM (SCY Conversion)
50 free – 22.39 (20.17) 100 free – 48.86 (44.01) 50 back – 24.40 (21.98) 100 back – 52.78 (47.54)A Division I program in the Southeastern Conference, LSU placed 7th at this past season’s conference championships before sending five athletes to compete at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships, where they finished 16th overall. To earn a second swim at the 2026 SEC Championships, it took times of 19.57/42.95 in the 50/100 free and 46.94/1:44.89 in the 100/200 back, putting both Da Silva and Dale outside the cutoffs.
On the team itself, Da Silva and Dale are currently poised to be two of the Tigers’ top contributors in the backstroke events, bringing added depth to the team.
Joining Da Silva and Dale in Baton Rouge this fall will be Elias Noe, Matias Santiso, Guilherme Camossato, Tyson Marrs and Jackson Congdon, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
