ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Monday’s weather has brought an overcast, soggy start to the work week. Rain totals obtained from the NYS Mesonet network show that most stations saw totals between 0.25 and 0.8 inches of rain. As of Monday evening, the Rochester airport has seen 0.31 inches of rain.
Rain will continue to decrease through Monday evening but overcast conditions may still linger overnight. Low temperatures from Monday night will drop near 55 degrees with winds shifting from east to west at 5 to 15 mph. Monday night’s weather will be cool and mostly cloudy, with low humidity.
Tuesday morning may start out overcast as moisture continues to move out of the region. A morning sprinkle is possible; however, clouds should break up by lunch hour. Temperatures climb back into the mid-70s with a forecasted high of 75 degrees for Tuesday.
We remain green on the Threat Tracker through the next five days. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring mostly dry and comfortable weather with only a 10% chance of rain. We are tracking our next system on Thursday. This system will likely bring some showers and storms across western New York. As of right now, this storm system is expected to weaken as it approaches the Northeast, so we are not expecting any disruptive weather at this time. We will keep you updated as to the timing and impacts of Thursday’s weather as we head through the next couple of days.
For the longer term, we are tracking a warmup for the week leading up to the Fourth of July. Temperatures are likely to be above average with daily highs likely to climb into the 80s.
