To honor 250 years of independence, many Chicago suburbs are choosing to go all out — and bright — for Fourth of July festivities.
But some displays may not fall on the holiday itself.
Here is a list of firework shows to check out July 3 and 4 across the Chicago suburbs.
Friday, July 3
Aurora
Downtown Aurora will have its yearly fireworks on July 3, with the best viewing spots at the RiverEdge Park and McCullough Park. Fireworks are set to start at 9:15 p.m. this year. On July 4, Aurora will host its annual parade, starting at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Benton Street and Broadway Street.
Berwyn
Berwyn will display its fireworks at dusk at Morton West High School on July 3.
Bridgeview
The Bridgeview Park District will have its Independence Day Celebration at Commissioners Park on July 3. Fireworks will start at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Burr Ridge
The Burr Ridge firework celebrations will be at Walker Park on July 3. The Family Fun Area and food vendor activity both will start at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks are expected to light up at dusk.
Deerfield
As a part of the annual Deerfield Family Days, firework displays will set off at approximately 9:15 p.m. from Shepard Park on July 3. For July 4, Deerfield will have its Independence Day Parade, starting at noon. The parade’s route will begin at Deerspring Pool.
Glencoe
Festivities in Glencoe will span two days and will be amplified for the 250th anniversary. On July 3, fireworks will take place at 9 p.m. at Lakefront Park, with a party in the park at 5 p.m. and bike decorating at 2:30 p.m. at Wyman Green. For July 4, a parade will take place in Downtown Glencoe beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Lemont
Fireworks in Lemont can be viewed starting at 9:30 p.m. in Centennial Park on July 3. Before the fireworks, a celebration will begin at 4 p.m., with food vendors, a kids zone and student performances. A performance by the Whiskey Road Band will take place at 6 p.m.

Oak Brook

Palatine
Fireworks in Palatine will form part of the Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest, taking place from July 2 to 5. Fireworks will be displayed at dusk on July 3 at Community Park. A parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. on July 4.
Park Ridge
Park Ridge will light up fireworks at dusk at Maine East High School on July 3. There will be a dance party at 6:30 p.m., followed by live music at 8 p.m.

As a part of a four-day-long fest, taking place on the southwest corner of Sterns Road and Bartlett Road, Bartlett will have fireworks going off at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. Events will culminate with a parade at 1 p.m. on July 5.
Beecher
The Beecher 4th of July Festival is set from July 1 to 4 this year, taking place at Firemen’s Park. There will be food, raffles, music, bingo and more. A parade is set for July 4, followed by fireworks at dusk.
Bensenville
Firework displays in Bensenville will be a part of LibertyFest on July 4. The day will start with a parade at 10 a.m. at 12 S. Center Street and end with fireworks at 9:30 p.m., launched from the Public Works Facility.

Buffalo Grove
Buffalo Grove’s fireworks will go on display at 9 p.m. on July 4 at Willow Stream Park. There will also be a performance from the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band at 7 p.m.
Carol Stream
Fireworks in Carol Stream will be displayed at 9:15 p.m. on July 4 at the Carol Stream Town Center. Preceding it, attendees can enjoy food concessions and a show.
City of Chicago
Navy Pier hosts its annual summer fireworks, but to commemorate the 250th anniversary, this year it will have “the largest and longest” display in its history, according to its website. Attendees can enjoy an extended 15-minute performance starting at 10 p.m. on July 4.
