2026 CHINESE NATIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Tuesday, June 16 – Sunday, June 21, 2026 Hangzhou, China LCM (50 meters) Live Results Daily Recaps: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5The sixth and final day of the 2026 Chinese National Swimming Championships took place in Hangzhou tonight, but not before several additional swims impressed the home crowd on athletes’ journeys to potential Asian Games qualification.
28-year-old Zhang Yufei led the charge with a head-turning result en route to gold in the women’s 50m fly.
Zhang, a 6-time Olympic medalist from the 2024 Games in Paris, delivered a time of 25.27, falling just .18 outside her lifetime best and Chinese national record of 25.05 she put on the books at the 2023 World Championships.
Wu Qingfeng, already the women’s 50m freestyle victor here, turned in a time of 25.48 as the silver medalist, while on-fire Yu Yiting bagged the bronze in 25.92.
Wu’s effort checked in as a new lifetime best, erasing the 25.72 notched just last November. Yu’s result was only .21 from the 25.71 PB she established at that same domestic competition.
Zhang now takes over slot #3 in the season’s world rankings in this event, while Wu inserts herself into slot #5.

That got him to the wall with a healthy advantage over the next-closest swimmer, Fei Liwei, who settled for silver in 3:46.41. Xu Haibo also landed on the podium in 3:47.60, good enough for bronze, with Olympic champion Sun Yang relegated to 4th place in 3:49.39.
As an 18-year-old last November, Zhang set the current WJR at a swift mark of 3:42.82, so he was less than two seconds off that result with tonight’s performance.
Finally, the men’s 200m fly produced some significant results, with Wang Xizhe putting the national record on notice with his winning time of 1:54.63.
That checked in just over half a second outside the Chinese standard of 1:54.02 Chen Juner nabbed at last year’s World Championships.
Splitting 26.04/29.73 (55.77)/30.00/2, 20-year-old World Junior champion Xizhe demolished his former PB of 1:55.97 to become China’s 4th-fastest man in history.

That time was performed by Song Borui, with Olympic medalist Xu Jiayu snagging silver in 1:57.55. Pan Zhanle, yes, the 100m freestyle World Record holder, earned a surprising bronze in the race, hitting a lifetime best of 1:58.54. After a quiet competition, World Record holder Qin Haiyang sealed the deal for gold in the men’s 50m breaststroke.
