A 15-year-old boy was shot in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Chicago on Saturday, prompting a large police response in the area.
The shooting took place around 6 p.m. after a verbal fight between the 15-year-old and another person escalated and the other person pulled out a gun and fired it at the McDonald’s parking lot at 740 E. 47th St. in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood.
The teen was shot in the chest, authorities said. He was transported to a local hospital where he was initially listed in fair condition.
Video posted to social media showed a large police response at the parking lot after the shooting.
Police are continuing to investigate.
