The defense had tried to get it tossed, calling the search unlawful. The notebook allegedly has writings expressing hostility towards the health insurance industry.
Schoenstein said Mangione's attorneys are not mounting an insanity defense, which usually seeks complete absolation for the crime.
Mangione's next court date is Aug. 11.
Possession of a weapon charge dismissed
The charge, involving the magazine that was suppressed by the court, was formally dismissed Wednesday.
Mangione faces federal and state charges
"Mistakes happen. People make mistakes," Agnifilo said after appearing in court Tuesday.
Mangione's state trial is set to begin on Sept. 8.
Jury selection for Mangione's federal interstate stalking trial is scheduled to start on Oct. 5. Opening statements are expected on either Oct. 26 or Nov. 2.
