Alex Ochsenbein has announced he will transfer to Division II Nova Southeastern for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Ochsenbein did not compete for Missouri this past season but was a redshirt freshman on the team during the 2024-2025 season.

“Super pumped to finally announce my commitment to @nsu_swim Incredibly thankful for @swim_coach_devin and everyone at @kentucky_aquatics for getting me back to doing what I love! A very special thanks to Coach Ben for this opportunity, can’t wait for these next few years in the sun!”

Ochsenbein originally committed to staying close to home at Kentucky before flipping his commitment to Missouri. He finished his redshirt freshman season at the 2025 SEC Championships and was 16th in the 100 breast in a lifetime best 52.48. He also was 25th in the 200 breast (1:56.28) and 56th in the 50 free (20.66, lifetime best).

He did not race collegiately this past season but raced at Cary Sectionals as well as the Kentucky 13&Over State meet in March. He swam to a 52.61 100 breast and a 1:56.19 200 breast.

Ochsenbein’s Best SCY Times Are:

100 breast: 52.48 200 breast: 1:54.76 50 free: 20.66

The Nova Southeastern men finished 25th at the 2026 Division II NCAA Championships with 13 points. Roland Nagy led the way with a 4th place finish in the 200 back (1:43.76). Nagy was the only scorer at NCAAs. The women’s program notably captured the 2026 D2 Championship.

Based on his best times, Ochsenbein is a strong pick up for the program as his best time in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes would have been 4th at the 2026 Division II NCAA Championships. He would have been the fastest in the 100 breast by a second and a half on the team as Gavin Lindley led with a 54.16, making Ochsenbein a key relay addition as well.
