Authorities identified the teenager who died after he was involved in a collision with a driver in suburban Franklin Park while riding an e-bike on Thursday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m., 19-year-old Louis Toaquiza was riding an e-bike near the intersection of Belmont Avenue and George Street when he was involved in a crash with a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old man, according to Franklin Park police and the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Toaquiza was taken to Loyola Hospital after the crash but “did not survive his injuries,” police said.

The 63-year-old driver stayed at the scene and spoke to responding officers, police said. An investigation into what led up to the crash remains ongoing.

A damaged e-bike could be seen in the street at police investigated. A vehicle with damage to its windshield and hood could also be seen nearby.
