Laila Oravsky has announced she will transfer to South Carolina for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Oravksy just finished her freshman season at Indiana.

She had originally committed to Florida before flipping her commitment to Indiana. She notably represented Canada in the open water 10km race at the 2024 World Championships.
This past season, she scored two points in the 1650 free at the 2026 Women’s Big Ten Championships as she touched in a 16:55.22. She swam a 16:29.07 in the event at midseason, her first time ever swimming the event.

1650 free: 16:29.07 500 free: 4:52.62 400 IM: 4:16.98The South Carolina women finished 6th out of 13 teams at the 2026 SEC Championships with 666.5 points, finishing just two points behind 5th place LSU and 12 points ahead of 7th place Auburn. Jordan Agliano led the team in the pool with 58 individual points.
Based on her best times, she would have been 17th in the 1650 free at the 2026 SEC Championships. South Carolina scored 59 points in the event, their highest individual scoring event at the meet. She also would have made the 400 IM ‘C’ final. It took a 4:48.60 in the 500 free to earn a second swim.
The Canadian native joins a team with numerous Canadian connections as the women’s program had four athletes from Canada this past season, all four coming from Ontario.
