Chicago police are seeking a man who sexually assaulted a woman who was jogging at Rainbow Beach Park in the South Chicago neighborhood Saturday morning.
According to a police alert issued this week, the assault occurred just after 6 a.m. at the park in the 3100 block of East 79th Street.
A 44-year-old woman was jogging when a man grabbed her from behind, police said. He then threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect then stole the woman’s phone and fled the scene on foot, according to police.
The suspect was described as a man in his 30s, standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds. He had a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and short black hair, with a medium build.
He was wearing a blue and gray shirt and blue denim jeans, police said.
