ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Gro-Moore Farms is getting ready for a busy strawberry picking season.
News10NBC Photojournalist Dan Mauer captured the sights and sounds from the farm as families and couples enjoyed a nice spring day together on Saturday.
“We’re starting our second week of strawberry picking at Gro-Moore Farms, and the first week was pretty warm,” said Brenda Moore, owner.
“We’ve got different varieties of berries to pick. You want to make sure you look at the berry. Make sure it’s red all the way through. They do not ripen after you pick them. And really pick the big ones and the small ones. Some people like to leave the little ones, but they’re usually the sweeter one,” Moore added.
Strawberry picking season typically lasts three to four weeks.
