ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department said a person was arrested on Sunday after being involved in a series of crashes, with one crash involving a civilian police technician.
Police say a marked RPD technician unit SUV was hit from behind while at a red light on Thurston Avenue, near Brooks Avenue, by a Dodge Ram. The truck left the scene afterwards, police added.
The driver of the SUV received minor injuries and was treated and released from a hospital.
Later, a New York State Police K9 officer saw the truck, which had been involved in another crash, this time with a light pole on Elmwood Avenue near Genesee Street, police say.
RPD says the trooper arrested the driver, a 63-year-old from Chili.
The driver was taken to a hospital and charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, among other charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
