Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said investing in human capital is a fundamental pillar for improving government performance and achieving sustainable development, emphasizing that knowledge-sharing and international cooperation play a vital role in transferring expertise and adopting global best practices.

Rostom made the remarks during a meeting with a high-level delegation from Thunderbird School of Global Management, led by Dean and Director General Charla Griffy-Brown, to discuss future cooperation and strengthen partnerships in training and capacity-building programs.

Rostom underscored the importance of expanding strategic partnerships with national and international institutions to broaden training opportunities and enhance national capabilities, noting human capital development remains central to Egypt’s comprehensive sustainable development agenda.

The minister highlighted Egypt’s efforts to translate digital visions and initiatives into tangible measures through the continuous development of human resources and workforce skills.

He also reviewed ongoing government efforts to promote entrepreneurship and support startups in line with the prime minister’s directives aimed at accelerating the implementation of Egypt’s executive entrepreneurship program.

Rostom said work is underway to establish a clear framework to position Egypt as a regional hub for innovation by providing tangible educational and financing opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs.

For her part, Griffy-Brown outlined Thunderbird’s strategic vision, which focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and digital transformation tools in government operations, while preserving the central role of human decision-making in critical and sovereign matters.

She also announced the school’s interest in launching its flagship global initiative, “100 Million Learners,” in Egypt.

Griffy-Brown described Egypt as an ideal launch point for the initiative, citing the country’s ambitious development agenda and supportive environment for building innovative and sustainable partnerships with tangible developmental impact.
