Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday, June 11, 2026, stressed the importance of continued joint efforts to prioritize diplomatic solutions, in order to prevent the expansion of conflict and contain the current escalation, amid the serious security, economic and geopolitical repercussions of the war on the region and the world.
During a phone call between the two top diplomats, as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and Pakistan on regional developments and efforts to support the US-Iran negotiating track, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Pakistan, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
The two sides also expressed keenness to press ahead with joint cooperation and advance bilateral ties to broader horizons across various fields, in a way that serves mutual interests.
They exchanged views on the latest regional developments, underscoring the importance of sustained political and diplomatic efforts to contain the current escalation in the region.
Abdelattty and Ishaq Dar further underlined the need to continue the negotiating process between the US and Iran to reach consensual understandings that would help reduce tensions, end the war and support regional stability, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the two top diplomats discussed ongoing preparations for Cairo’s hosting of the fourth meeting of the quadrilateral mechanism comprising Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
