Scheduled to commence in August 2026, the scope of work includes renovation of the 3,350m Runway 4 and its access roads.
The contract also covers the refurbishment of seven aircraft taxiways and the reconfiguration of a junction considered key for improving both traffic flow and airport safety.
In addition to these tasks, the project involves upgrades to air transport infrastructure and the installation of more than 40km of airport ground lighting and drainage networks.
More than 350 consortium employees will take part in the project, which is expected to be completed in about four months.
Colas said it will implement several environmental measures in line with group policy and client requirements.
The company plans to use alternative fuels, low-carbon cement and recycled materials in asphalt mixes. It also aims to optimise structural design to reduce the use of hydraulic binders.
These steps are expected to cut carbon emissions by 48% compared with the initial project specifications.
Additionally, as part of waste reduction efforts, nearly 90% of demolition material will be recycled, either directly on site or through Tersen’s recycling operations.
Colas France & Indian Ocean executive vice-president Thierry Méline said: “The renewed confidence of Groupe ADP highlights the value of our teams’ work and expertise.
“This project, which combines technical performance with environmental responsibility, will modernise the runway, making it more efficient and sustainable: we are proud to be part of this ambitious project.”
Colas has previously completed several airfield projects for Groupe ADP, including the refurbishment of Runway 3 at Paris-Orly and works at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Nice Côte d’Azur and Luxembourg airports.
The group has also been involved in international contracts, such as work on the third runway in Bangkok and the construction of a taxiway in Los Angeles.
