Collin McKenzie has announced he will stay in the Big Ten as a graduate transfer, joining USC after spending three seasons at Indiana.

McKenzie joined the Hoosiers as a sophomore, transferring in after his freshman season with NC State where he only competed through midseason. He arrived in Bloomington in fall 2023.
While with the Hoosiers, McKenzie finished each of his seasons at the Big Ten Championships. He scored 24 individual points at the 2024 Big Ten Championships as he was 15th in the 200 IM, 16th in the 200 breast, and 24th in the 100 back. He went three for three in best times at the meet with a 1:44.20 200 IM, 1:55.96 200 breast, and a 47.43 100 back.
He was an exhibition swimmer at the 2025 and 2026 Big Ten Championships. He switched his event lineup and swam a 53.08 100 breast, 1:58.28 200 breast, and a 44.26 100 free this past season at Big Tens.

200 IM: 1:44.20 100 breast: 52.91 200 breast: 1:55.96 100 back: 47.43The USC men finished 7th out of nine teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships, Indiana notably captured the team title. USC was led by Michal Chmielewski who scored 78 individual points.
McKenzie’s best times would have scored at the 2026 Big Ten Championships as it took a 1:56.36 200 breast, 53.58 100 breast, and a 1:46.36 200 IM to earn a second swim. USC had one ‘B’ finalist and three ‘C’ finalists in the 200 breast.
Indiana and USC have had numerous transfers go to and from each school. Ella Ristic grad transferred from Indiana to USC back in 2024 while Daniela Karnaugh spent her freshman season with the Hoosiers before transferring to USC last summer. Former USC swimmer Macky Hodges transferred into Indiana last summer.
